Lessons

I offer both in-person and online video guitar lessons. If you would like to schedule a lesson with me, please visit the Contact page and email me.

My current rate is:

$50/hr for any online lesson

$60/hr for any in-person lesson

In-person lessons can take place at your house, a neutral location or at my house, based on the preference of the student. Note that I will travel up to 50 miles from my house free of charge, but any further we can discuss a travel fee.

I specialize in metal guitar technique and songwriting, but have taught other styles including classical, pop, rock, shred guitar, progressive rock/metal, blues, and jazz. I also teach music theory as part of my lessons, as necessary/desired.

I tailor my lesson plans and teaching style according to each student’s preferences, needs, and skill set.

When you sign up for your first lesson, we will schedule a free 30 minute one-on-one call to discuss your goals, current skill set, and expectations. This makes the first lesson more effective and enjoyable for both of us.

Most lessons are one hour long because that typically provides enough time to warm up, go over any content, answer questions, etc. In my experience, lessons shorter than an hour are not very effective because of limited time to tackle more complex and intricate ideas/parts, and lessons longer than an hour are draining and overwhelming for the student. That being said, if you’d like to schedule lessons that are longer or shorter than an hour, I will accommodate.
